Project Blog 1

When Marie texted me asking if I would like to be in her group for the final project with Noor, I said yes immediately. I've worked with both of them before so I was excited because I knew we could produce a great final project. As a group we are interested in doing research of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). We have finally been able to go on campus just recently to preform labs in our Instrumental Analysis class and our Applied Chemistry Techniques class. Sp, studying GLP really goes hand in hand with preparing us for the transition from online lab simulations to on campus lab work. Last week when we got assigned all this work for the final project, we all felt quite overwhelmed. Due dates, midterms and more due dates kept coming our way. Like I said we spend a full day on campus for labs and on top of that we had two midterms to write last week. Timing could not be worse. It is what it is! As students we obviously do the best we can do balance out all our responsibilities. We will complete an A level project for this course and our final deliverable will be a report done on Microsoft Word and a PowerPoint Presentation. I think that our proposal will outline all the necessary steps and details needed to complete an A level project. We met once last week to discuss our individual roles and the different areas of GLP we will each research as it is such a broad topic. There is so much to learn from GLP, but our final deliverable will have information about instrument validation, personal protective equipment (PPE), documentation and records, specimen sample tracking, quality assurance and statistical procedures.

  1. Thank you for submitting the first blog entry for your group, Madie.

Yes, I'm sure all these assignments coming at you is overwhelming. Starting a large group project is often the hardest thing to do, so you've done that. Well done.

I look forward to reading your proposal and will make comments on LEARN. Any questions? Please send an email any time, or meet on Teams every Monday afternoon.

    Good luck with everything!
